The Victory Services Club (VSC) welcomed over 60 guests to its ‘VSC Vineyard event’, a wine tasting experience to showcase the venue’s El Alamein and Trafalgar Suite after its recent £1.5 million refurbishment.

VSC’s Vineyard event took place on 29th September in the El Alamein and Trafalgar Suite, which was transformed for the evening into a vineyard. All guests were treated to a wine tasting experience set out at five food stations around the newly refurbished establishment. Some of the pairings included vegetable tempura with sweet chilli sauce served with Chilean wines, a Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot from La Playa Estate. Chargrilled steak with chunky chips and béarnaise sauce was paired with South Eastern Australian Hamilton Heights Shiraz.

The evening event also offered attendees the chance to participate in a business card prize draw and Twitter photo competition where the winners were awarded a Jeroboam bottle of wine taken from the evening’s paired wine samples or a magnum bottle of Laurent Perrier champagne.

Air Commodore Nigel Beet CBE, CEO of the VSC comments: “We were delighted with the great turn out for our VSC Vineyard Event. It was a great opportunity to not only showcase the newly refurbished El Alamein and Trafalgar Suite but also to demonstrate the high-quality food and service we provide at The VSC.”

The El Alamein and Trafalgar Suite recently received a £1.5 million refurbishment, which saw the historical venue install contemporary flooring, a high specification kitchen and energy saving LED lighting. Alongside this the latest audio visual equipment was introduced which included wireless microphones, two displays that connect to AV wall plates and a Crestron control panel set up to regulate the technology for both rooms.
