Shortlisted from 500 entries to four finalists, Head Chefs Anas Alsaadi from Cooperscroft Care Home and Carl Weston from Cuffley Manor designed two course menus for the National Premier Foods ‘Bisto Care Caterer of the Year Competition 2018’
In an existing competition and live final on 12th September, Chefs Anas and Julianna Martins Pinto (standing in for Carl Weston) cooked their devised menus in the ninety minutes structured competition where the judges analysed; how the chefs worked throughout the competition, their choice of ingredients, menu taste, quality, colour and texture as well as nutritional value and presentation.
Both chefs performed to their absolute best on the day, with Juliana Martins Pinto being crowned the winner with some excellent feedback “most precise menu execution, meticulous, excellent, impeccable and outstanding”. Anas also received fantastic feedback with outstanding presentation of his dishes.
