The Catering Service at St Andrew’s strikes again with yet another win at the Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food & Drink Awards 2016/17, where they secured the Healthy Eating Workplace of the Year award, sponsored by the Northamptonshire County Council.
Announced last night at the County Cricket Club in Northampton, it’s now the charity’s second win in just one month and a great accomplishment for the team after being named runner up the previous year.
With a top judging panel including NCC’s Director of Public Health and Wellbeing, GP Dr. Akeem Ali, nutritional consultant Andy Fox and Isla Whitcroft, a freelance health specialist, the winners were recognised for going above and beyond to promote healthy eating in the workplace.
They scooped the win above others for the introduction of the healthy choice traffic light system and the pay less for healthier food pricing system which has been rolled out across the charity.
Head of Restaurants and Catering, Gareth Waters said ‘this award shows that the work we put into the products that we stock and the initiatives that we have taken to promote healthy eating has paid off, well done to all the team.’
