Hospitality Assured, a standard for service and business excellence in the hospitality industry, has awarded Lancashire County Council School and Residential Care Catering with an accreditation following a recent assessment. They provide more than 50,000 meals a day in more than 527 Primary and Special Schools and 38 Secondary Schools.  The managed catering contracts enable LCCG to provide a tailored service to meet individual school needs.

Lancashire County Council has been awarded a score of 75.7% following the accreditation process, which encourages businesses to look at their operations from the customer’s perspective. Organisations being assessed have to meet nine requirements including quality standards, developing a culture of excellence and service ideals, which are delivered to the customer.

“We are delighted to have recognised Lancashire County Council School and Residential Care Catering with a score of 75.7% following our assessment,” comments Graham Walker, Hospitality Assured Assessor. “The score achieved represents a very high entry point into the Hospitality Assured family and is testament to the quality of the leadership, planning, preparation and teamwork that went into the assessment review pack and other evidence provided. We are expecting to see much more of the organisation in the external awards arena in the future”

County Councillor Susie Charles, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Schools, said: “Feedback from the recent Hospitality Assured audit emphasised the professionalism and dedication demonstrated by all of our teams on a daily basis”

She added, “I’m told that both of the auditors praised each of the 36 staff they interviewed during the inspection, so much so that every one of them has been named in their report.

I’m well aware that the service we provide is excellent, but it is very pleasing to know that this has been recognised by others as well. I’d like to offer my personal congratulations to everyone.”

Hospitality Assured is used by a wide range of organisations, including local authorities, universities, contract caterers, facilities management firms, tourism attractions, hotels, care homes, event venues, sports centres, members clubs and accommodation providers.

Hospitality Assured is widely used in the UK and has reached as far as the UAE. Through a franchise agreement with the Caribbean Tourism Organisation, it is used by more than 50 tourism and hospitality businesses across the Caribbean.
