Hospitality Assured, a standard for service and business excellence in the hospitality industry, has awarded The Hawthorns Eastbourne with an accreditation following a recent assessment. The Hawthorns Eastbourne is an independent living retirement community in this south coast town, providing a quality retirement lifestyle with hotel standard services and facilities for over 130 residents in their wide range of apartments and bungalows.
The Hawthorns Eastbourne has been awarded a score of 67.3% following the accreditation process which encourages businesses to look at their operations from the customer’s perspective. Organisations being assessed have to meet nine requirements including quality standards, developing a culture of excellence and service ideals, which are delivered to the customer.
“We are thrilled to have recognised The Hawthorns Eastbourne with a score of 67.3% following our assessment,” comments Graham Walker the Assessor . “The accreditation process is designed to not only reward excellence but flag up clear opportunities in which the assessed can improve in certain areas so they know where they need to focus when it comes to improving and strengthening its commercial position. The assessment process has been a real success and the Hawthorns team has impressed us with their level of enthusiasm to achieve excellence.”
Ian Turnbull, General Manager at The Hawthorns Eastbourne was absolutely delighted at the award. “When we embarked upon this challenge, we felt we could meet the standards required by the Hospitality Assured organisation, but the boost in confidence has been great for the staff having achieved it. This will enable us to keep raising our standards higher for our independent retirement living residents and give us more recognition within the Hospitality sector. We have a first class team here at The Hawthorns who make it possible to provide such a high quality of service on a consistent basis”.
